No. Our heating system is triggered by charging input rather than continuously drawing stored battery energy while your RV is parked. When the cells are at or below 32°F and a charging source supplies more than 10A, incoming power is directed to heating first. Normal charging begins after the cells warm above 41°F. If the battery is sitting cold with no charger connected, the heater does not keep running and drains your 300Ah capacity.
The heating function needs more than 10A of charging input to activate. Early-morning or weak winter solar may not provide enough current immediately, so use a LiFePO4 charger or DC-to-DC charger when you need to warm a cold-soaked battery without waiting for stronger sunlight. Solar can take over normally once available charging current is sufficient and the cells have warmed above 41°F.

Yes, through a DC-to-DC charger. We recommend placing the DC-to-DC charger between the vehicle charging system and the RV lithium battery rather than connecting the LiFePO4 battery directly to the alternator. This regulates charging current and voltage while protecting the vehicle charging system.
A converter with a LiFePO4 charging profile is the right match. Our battery accepts a 14.2V–14.6V charging voltage, while older converters that remain around typical lead-acid float voltage may leave part of the 300Ah capacity unused. Disable equalization and desulfation modes. If your existing converter does not provide a lithium profile, replacing the charging section or adding a dedicated LiFePO4 charger gives the battery the correct charging cycle.
