Yes, 12V lights, radios, USB outlets, and similar accessories should remain on a 72V-to-12V DC-DC converter rather than being connected directly to the 72V battery. If your EZGO already has a properly rated reducer, keep the accessories on that circuit; otherwise, add a 72V-input reducer as part of the conversion.
A 72V EZGO already operating on a 72V drive system can be converted by removing the existing lead-acid batteries, securing the lithium battery, connecting the main positive and negative cables, and installing the supplied charger and battery monitor. Before working on the battery compartment, place the cart in its service or tow mode and disconnect the existing battery bank so the drive system is not energized during the swap.
The BMS stops charging when battery temperature falls below 32°F to protect the LiFePO4 cells. Move the cart or battery into a warmer area and let the battery temperature rise above 32°F; charging can then resume normally. The BMS also stops discharge below -4°F, so warming the battery is the practical solution when extreme cold prevents the cart from operating.
A lithium conversion does not set your EZGO's top speed by itself. Motor, controller programming, gearing, and tire size still determine the vehicle's speed limit. What this battery provides is strong current delivery under load, which can help the cart maintain more consistent acceleration and hill-climbing performance instead of suffering from a weak battery supply.
